Coming along

Here's a photo update of the pretty aqua blanket. It's oh so sunny!

As I mentioned in my first post, This one is going to be a coverlet for a double sized bed, so I have a little ways to go, but I just love these colors together. Again, I am using: Lion Brand Gold Fish and Sweet Pea, Red Heart's Cornmeal and a discontinued Robin's Egg, as well as Bernat Aqua. I'm using the join-as-you-go method to put them all together.

Neglect, neglect, neglect

I realize I have been neglecting this little blog, and I promise to try to get some new patterns together to share. I am a freelance graphic designer, and I have been busy with work coming in (I can't complain) and a few new custom orders at the shop. When it rains, it pours. I wish I could knit and crochet all day, but unfortunately beyond work, I am a wife and mother which means, maid, chauffeur, cook and teacher as well!

I did just finish up a new daisy blanket for a very nice customer over in Illinois. She requested a white border, and I think it turned out quite nice. This is the same pattern I wrote about here.

Next up, an all white rose blanket...

Long time no blog

I can't believe it's already been a month since my last post! Having a four and five year-old really add to the already hectic holidays. We had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you and yours did too.

I was able to finish up quite a few jobs as well as sneak in a new baby blanket (and another cable hat). This one really makes me yearn for spring. Especially after last week's snowfall. I can't really complain; it's been so mild up until now.

I saw this little fellow outside my window this morning.

He doesn't seem to mind the cold at all. Until next time, stay warm!

A bright blanket for a grey day

We've finally been getting some much needed rain around here. I just realized I have photos of the tree outside my window in winter and spring, so here's one for summer...

I have a feeling fall will be here in no time.

I've been busy working on a few more custom orders. One being a new bright pink, orange and yellow blanket. You can see my inspiration for my first blanket here.

I've finished all of the squares and have begun working them together. Here's a photo of the squares laid out, waiting to become a new blanket. Each square is different and each blanket is unique. I like that they are never exactly the same. Different is good.

Field of daisies in progress

Almost finished with the squares. I'll use the join-as-you-go method to put these together. I might try to take some photos of the process, so you can see how it's done.

Hope everyone is enjoying their President's Day!

23 more to go...

So here's what I came up with for my next blanket. I think it's sweetly similar to the cute little dress. I interviewed a bright green edging, but in the end I think I like the magenta best. Check back for more photos...

Here is a photo of the wrong side:
