I'm back and finishing up some blankets!

Had a very nice break with my hubby and children, and I was able to get a lot done during that time:

Finished up the Citrine blanket:

and almost done with a new "pink sunshine" (that's the best way to describe it) blanket:

I hope my customer is happy with them both!

I was also able to take some photos of my join-as-you-go method of putting all the squares together, so I'll try to post that soon for anyone interested!

Adding rounds to the daisy

Several people have asked to explain how I added the border to the daisy square. Here are some photos showing how I do it.

Round 1: Attach new color with a slip stitch to any ch 2 space. Ch 2 (counts as first dc), 2 double crochet (dc), ch 1, 3 dc (corner made).

Into next two spaces: 3 dc

Into next space: 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc (next corner made)

Continue around: 3 dc in next two spaces, and 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc (corner) until you get to the beg ch 2. Slip stitch into top of ch 2.

If you would like to continue, Round 2: slip to corner space and beg with ch 2, 2 dc, ch1, 3 dc, then * 3 dc into next 3 spaces, 3dc, ch 1, 3 dc * repeat from * around and join with a slip stitch.

So, there you have it! I hope that makes sense and happy hooking!

Note: If you would like to sell items you have made with my patterns, please do give credit to Tillie Tulip. Thank you.

Hearts in bloom

I created a sampler square baby afghan a couple of years ago that sold quite well at my Etsy shop. I named it "hearts in bloom" because it was made up of several flower and heart patterns among others. It was a little nod to my Dad too who was dealing with congestive heart failure. He passed away this past September, and it's been a tough year without him. Whenever I think of this blanket, I think of my Dad, and I'm thankful for the time we had together.

The reason I bring up this afghan is because I was asked to do a custom order using purples. I've only done it in pink and white, and I'm looking forward to the change! I also have some new flower squares that I'm looking forward to incorporating. This will be a larger size than usual. I'll let you know how it goes...

Have a wonderful week!

Rose granny rectangle afghan completed

I finished up my afghan this morning when I sewed the little rose to one corner. It's a nice feeling to put the last piece in place. I guess that's why I also like to do jigsaw puzzles so much! I wasn't sure how I wanted to edge it, so I opted for a single crochet in a dark rose and scalloped edge in the dusty rose.

Happy Leap Year Day!

Finished...daisy blanket

Here is a photo of the finished daisy blanket. I didn't get a chance to take photos of the join-as-you-go process, but maybe next time... I was at school this morning signing up my son for kindergarten... so just getting this blanket finished was a monumental task. I really like how these last two blankets have turned out. They are so vibrant; and these little daisies make me smile. Hope they send a smile your way too!

Field of daisies in progress

Almost finished with the squares. I'll use the join-as-you-go method to put these together. I might try to take some photos of the process, so you can see how it's done.

Hope everyone is enjoying their President's Day!

Ka-bam!

Well, here is the pile of squares for the latest blanket. An homage to Lilly Pulitzer (and some on-line imagery that screams spring and sunshine, among other things). Definitely need the sunglasses for this one.

Feeling pink...

After finishing up my latest boy blanket:

I'm in the mood for something pink and girly. I think we'll go with this square in all kinds of crazy pinks. Stay tuned.
