Finishing up a new granny square blanket

This one is a custom order. It's a gift for a new mom. My customer asked to create something to work with her friend's nursery colors. She has the cutest bedding set from The Land of Nod:

These are some some photos of the afghan in progress. I hope she likes it! Check back to see the finished piece!

  1. do you see what I mean about granny squares? just wonderful!!! The one my mom did gave to me when I was a teen, has a black background, then white then a color. Love it. Yours is perfect to go with that nursery and what a thoughful gift!

  2. Thanks Pam. I always get a little nervous when I'm doing a custom order. I just want to make sure they love it. You should do a story on your blog with photos of your mom's afghan. Would love to see it.

  3. Very nice! I just started a blanket for my bed using hexagons. Pretty similar to granny squares. I love looking at other people's projects:)

    1. Hi Angie, Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the nice comment! God bless ya working on the hexagonal blanket! I love working up motifs, but it's the putting them together that's daunting to me... I will have to give it a shot one of these days. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
