A tough day

A year ago today my Dad passed away. I miss him every day. It seems like it was just yesterday - not a year ago - that we lost him. It's such an indescribable pain; it's a hole in your heart.

My mission today is to think of happy times, and remember him there.

    1. Thank you for your kind words Luna! I'm sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. No matter what age, it's still difficult, but it's nice to know she lived such a long life! It's a reminder to live every day to the fullest. (HUG)

    1. Grace, Thank you so much for such a kind message. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss as well. I think there's a special understanding amongst people who have lost a parent. I never really understood until it happened to me. As sick as he was towards the end, it was still a big blow. Thank you again for the support and hug - I'm a hugger, so here's one back to (you)!

  3. I understand how you feel. I lost my dad over 27 years ago. I was 23 years old. He was a great dad growing up and I was just beginning to get to know him on an adult level. It is hard to believe that it has been over 27 years. In some ways, it seems like it was just yesterday. I'm happy for you that you were able to get to know your dad as an adult with many great memories.

Time really does help to ease the pain a good bit.

  4. that's a beautiful way to put it laura, 'think of happy times and remember him there'.

i am lucky to still have both my parents, but have had a tough year of loss with passing of my godfather followed quickly by my sister-friend. been missing them terribly. but i do laugh and smile when i can hear her laughing in my head, or hear him calling me pammy.

it's all about remembering the happy times and them there.

sorry for your loss. love your dad's cheeky grin.

    1. Thank you Pam. What a rough year, right? My Dad had a great sense of humor, and he worked so hard for us. I'll always remember those kinds of things. Hope you can too. (hug)
